For the little bit of construction that would have to be done, we created a more practical entry way, planter boxes, more seating along the ramp and on the stairs, and coverage for the first floor.

Running into Problems

Once we had that idea put into our heads, we started figuring out the layout of the staircase. We ran into problems in how long the slope of the handicap accessible ramp had to be and how high we had to raise it to be even with the platform.

The Big Idea

We figured if we entered on the second story platform on the inside, there would be a lot less nonsense stair walking. We kept most of the original stairs but build over some of the top steps with steps that lead up to the new walk way. The new walk way would bend around to the side of the building creating handicap accessible ramp and seating along the ramp.
